Quest exists to help people gain qualifications that enhance their career prospects. We know only too well that the path is different for each individual. Over the years the development of the Modern Apprenticeship and the Foundation Apprenticeship schemes has given thousands of people the opportunity to gain qualifications in a way that works for them.

The Modern Apprenticeship Scheme

A modern apprenticeship offers the best of both worlds. An opportunity to earn a wage and gain an industry-recognised qualification, all while getting valuable, practical experience.

Benefits to Apprentice:

  • Gain valuable practical experience
  • Learn about the realities of business
  • Develop confidence & soft skills
  • Earn a nationally recognised SVQ qualification

Employers gain so much from modern apprenticeships. They help develop their workforce by training new staff, and upskilling existing employees.

Benefits to the Employee:

  • Extra help for the period of the apprenticeship
  • A pathway to future permanent recruitment
  • The opportunity to help develop a young person's career
  • Funding through Skills Development Scotland

Modern Apprenticeships in Administration or Customer Service

A Modern Apprenticeship in Administration or Customer Services gives a young person between the ages of 16-24 an opportunity to receive a wage from an employer for the period of the apprenticeship. It also gives them the chance to complete a nationally recognised qualification in Customer Service and Administration which includes an SVQ at level 5 or level 6.

Taking on a Modern Apprentice, gives you the chance to train enthusiastic young people in your business. You get to see these young people flourish and grow in your business. Many of our clients have taken on several apprentices over the years. The vast majority of Modern Apprentices we’ve worked with have gone on to permanent roles, either with their existing employer or a new one.

Foundation Apprenticeships

Foundation Apprenticeships are a fantastic learning opportunity for senior-phase secondary school pupils.  Lasting one or two years, pupils begin their Foundation Apprenticeship in S5 or S6. Pupils spend time at school learning about the subject then have the opportunity to practically apply their learning in a workplace. Quest delivers the training in school and assesses in the workplace.

Foundation Apprenticeships do a great job of bridging the gap between the classroom and the workplace. It helps young people develop the skills, experience and knowledge for life after school. It builds confidence and maturity by helping develop the soft skills needed to thrive in a workplace. Getting early exposure to the world of work
